NT$60,000 per month (approximately USD 1,850)Assistant Professors, Postdoctoral Researchers, PhD Students:

Round-trip economy-class airfare subsidy up to NT$35,000 (approximately USD 1,080)

Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to non-Taiwanese nationals. Eligible candidates include:
Professors and Associate Professors
Assistant Professors
Postdoctoral Researchers
Doctoral Program Students
Research Fellows or Associate Research Fellows at overseas academic institutions
Note: Applicants must not currently reside, study, or conduct research in Taiwan.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be foreign nationals (non-Taiwan citizens)
Propose research related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, China studies, Asia-Pacific regional issues, or Sinology
Submit all required documents on time

Applicants must prepare and submit the following:
Completed online application form (available on the Taiwan Fellowship Portal)
Updated CV, including a list of publications
Detailed research proposal (approximately three pages)
Two letters of recommendation (or one recommendation letter and one letter of consent from your institution’s chief administrator)

Important Fellowship Regulations
Research topics must align with the approved proposal; any changes require prior MOFA approval
A final research report (minimum 20 pages) must be submitted within three months after the fellowship ends
Fellows cannot accept any other scholarships from the Taiwanese government during their fellowship
Part-time employment is not allowed without prior approval from MOFA
Compliance with the laws of Taiwan is mandatory; violations may result in termination of the fellowship
Publications and reports must acknowledge the support of the Taiwan Fellowship
